Amarsul attended the launch event for the Re-Store Portugal initiative, promoted by WWF Portugal, which took place on 22 October at Casa da Cerca in Almada. The session was attended by the Secretary of State for the Environment, João Manuel Esteves, and brought together various entities and partners committed to the regeneration and protection of nature.
Re-Store Portugal is WWF Portugal's main nature restoration initiative until 2030 and represents a transformative response to the environmental challenges facing the country. Nine priority areas for ecological restoration in mainland Portugal have been identified — three of which (Serra do Caldeirão, Tagus Estuary and Peneda-Gerês National Park) will be the first to be addressed. The initial investment of €1.8 million aims to regenerate degraded ecosystems, bring life back to the territory and promote a more resilient, fair and healthy future for all, with WWF seeking to reinforce this value by involving new entities and partners.
During the event, the campaign ‘Re-Store Portugal – The first shop that “sells” the future and gives back nature’ was also presented. This innovative approach invites companies and citizens to invest directly in nature restoration, actively contributing to the regeneration of ecosystems and the strengthening of biodiversity.
Amarsul's presence at this launch reflects its ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between public and private entities and civil society in building a greener and more balanced future.
