The Mota-Engil Group is deeply saddened to announce that António Mota, the Group's long-standing leader who served as its chairman for more than 27 years, from 1995 to January 2023, passed away this morning in the city of Porto.
Today we bid farewell to an extraordinary man, a visionary entrepreneur who leaves behind a unique legacy, known for his humanistic spirit and solidarity with society, and the mark he left on everyone who knew him.

European Week for Waste Reduction Highlights Electronic Waste

Amarsul celebrated its traditional Magusto Amarsul, bringing together dozens of employees at the Setúbal Ecopark to mark this much-loved festivity. The gathering featured traditional roasted chestnuts and provided a relaxed atmosphere of conviviality and strengthened team spirit.

Electronic waste is the central theme of the European Week for Waste Reduction
mThe European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) takes place from November 22nd to 30th and, this year, focuses on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), under the motto "Turn on the value. Turn off the waste". The objective is to draw attention to the accelerated growth of electronic waste in the European Union, raising awareness among citizens, companies and organizations for more sustainable consumption and management practices for this equipment.

Amarsul Present at the 4th Occupational Safety and Health Congress of the Ave Valley
On November 12th, Amarsul was present at the 4th Occupational Safety and Health Congress of the Ave Valley, promoted by the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), at the Auditorium of the ULSAAVE Hospital in Guimarães.
The event brought together professionals and specialists from the areas of health, safety, and technology to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the digital age in the context of work, exploring how technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, and intelligent digital systems are transforming workplaces and influencing the safety and health of workers.

Visit by Casal do Marco Primary School and Erasmus+ partners to the Seixal Ecopark Sorting Centre
Amarsul welcomed representatives from the Casal do Marco Primary School in Seixal and their European partners to the Seixal Ecopark as part of an international Erasmus+ project.
During their visit to the Sorting Centre, the group had the opportunity to learn about the process of separating and recovering recyclable waste from the Setúbal Peninsula.
